Virtual Wine Tasting Report

On Saturday the 20th February, we held our Virtual Wine Tasting Event. 17 sets of 2 bottles of wine, were safely delivered to their owners and with the expert tuition from Justin of Waples Wine. We were able to swirl, smell and sip our way through the lot.

The White was a Domaine Chartreux Viognier 2019, France. Tasting Notes - Expect the apricots and peaches with a hint of cream on the nose, then there's a hint of acidity and freshness to balance it all too. A wonderful partner with crab or lobster or Indian dishes.

The Red was a Heathcote Shiraz, Trentham Estate 2017, Australia. Tasting Notes - It's a single vineyard wine from the Murray river, it has a wonderful plum and dark cherry and chocolate notes, with a hint of oak on the finish to bring it altogether. Try it with Pork or turkey or red or yellow pepper dishes or if with cheese go for a Cheshire, young Gouda or Emmenthal

Everyone enjoyed themselves and many went on to enjoy a nice meal selected to go with the wines. We look forward to having Justin back at the club soon hopefully for an Autumn Wine Festival.
