Stone SC - Club Trophies

Blackwater Cup Presented by Mr R.T. Burke in 1972. Based on the results of club handicap races throughout the season.

Helmsman of the Year Presented by Mr R. moody in 1961. Competitors qualify from each class to a final race to find both the Helm and Crew of the year.

August Trophy Presented by Mr P.G. Douglas in 1959. Two races to be sailed on August Bank Holiday for Menagerie and Wayfarer classes.

Commodores Cup Presented by M. C.A. Christiansen in 1950. The final points race of the season is a mass start, the winner receives the cup.

Coronation Cup Presented by Mr H.J. Crispin in 1963. Club handicap race, the course to include rounding Osea Island.

Pursuit Cup Presented by Sir Geoffrey Nightingale in 1957. Open to all classes including Cadets.

Joe Cowell Memorial Cup Presented by the Cowell family. Joe Cowell was a founder member of the club, who often expressed a wish to have a race around Pewitt Island off Bradwell. On his death, the family presented the cup to be raced for, the course to be around Pewitt Island. Due to congestion in Bradwell creek, in recent years it has been necessary to use the man-made structure off Bradwell that is the Power Station Baffle.

Stone Trophy Presented by Mr P.G. Douglas in 1956. Club handicap trophy.

Scruffs/Smart Cup Handicap races for the faster/slower club boats with a yardstick of 999 and faster/1000 and slower, two races, both to count.

Two Islands Trophy Presented by Mr P.G. Douglas in in 1964. Handicap event for a race around Osea Island and Pewitt Island (now the Power Station Baffle).

Windward Tack Trophy Presented by Mr and Mrs J. Mulville in 1962. A handicap race or series on nominated Saturdays. Points for this trophy accrue to the helm, so that it is possible to sail any club boat in the series.

Ladies Cup Presented by Mrs C.C. French in 1950. Handicap race for all lady members in any club boat.

Air Ambulance Race Club handicap race with an entry fee, which is then donated to the Air Ambulance charity.

Stone Dinghy Challenge Cup 1954 Open handicap race for members of all clubs in the Blackwater Joint Race Committee clubs.

Cruiser Trophy Presented by Mr H.J. Crispin. Open cruiser race for members of Blackwater Joint Race Committee clubs.

Top Gun Trophy Presented by Mr T. Miles in 2014. Awarded to the sailor with the most first places in the main series races (Spring, Summer, Autumn) more than one boat constitutes a race.
