Stand Up Paddleboard and Kayak April Event

Saturday the 30th April 2022 dawned bright and beautiful, with barely a breath of wind. Absolutely perfect conditions for the combined Stone Sailing Club & East of England Paddle Sports, Osea circumnavigation.
A briefing was held for the 77 paddlers who had signed on, before heading onto the water. Many of those attending, who had not been to SSC or the Blackwater before, were truly mesmerised by the water and the vista; helped of course, by the amazing weather.
The fleet headed up river past Marconi S.C. keeping Osea to starboard. Coming round and back to the East Beach for a well earned stop and a few refreshments, while waiting for the tide to turn, so it would assist the return. Some mad fools even went for a quick swim.
The fleet then headed back to S.S.C. for a few pints at the bar and a relax on the club lawn, before the happy visitor's left, with many already planning a return visit, for the scheduled paddle days later in the year.
