A message from our Vice Commodore

Dear Members of Stone Sailing Club,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as Vice Commodore of Stone Sailing Club, effective immediately.
This decision has not been an easy one, or taken lightly but it is necessary due to my current ill health. In early March I was diagnosed with cancer for the 4th time and I will shortly be starting my treatment, therefore, I must prioritise my health, well-being, and time with my family at this point in time and this means I am unable to fulfil my duties and responsibilities to the level I feel the club deserves.
I am grateful for the unwavering support I have received from the committee and all members during my time as both Rear Commodore and Vice Commodore. Thanks must go in particular, to my fellow Flag Officers, who have offered support, taken on some of my tasks and given their encouragement - this has been instrumental in allowing me to continue in my role for as long as I have. However, I now feel it is time for me to step down and allow someone else to take over these important responsibilities.
Although I am resigning from my position, I remain committed to Stone Sailing Club and will continue to participate in club activities whenever possible. I will be available to provide support and assistance to the committee up until my treatment begins in a few weeks' time, and I hope to stay involved with the club and offer my support again as and when my health allows.
I look forward to continuing my association with the club as a member and enjoying the camaraderie and activities that Stone Sailing Club offers everyone.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time.
Warmest regards
Sarah Muir
