SSC Laying Up Supper 2023

This years annual Laying Up Supper will take place on the 25th November 2023 at the County Hotel in Chelmsford. After a very successful event at the same venue last year, we are returning to the County Hotel to enjoy our end of season celebration. There will be a three course sit down meal, followed by a short prize giving, for the winners of the main club races and series. We will then move on to dancing to the ever popular Eclipse Duo. The hotel offers a comprehensive bar and wine list. If you would like to order wine for your table in advance, a list is available below. These wines are available at slightly discounted prices, but you must telephone the hotel and place your order and pay for your wine in advance. Please remember to give them your name, so that your wines can be on your designated table when you arrive. Additional bottles can be purchased on the night, but they will be from the hotel's main wine list and will be slightly more expensive.
The evening is designed to be a celebration of everything that has happened at the club this season and is most definitely not for sailors only. You do not have to have won a trophy, you do not even have to have sailed. If you are club member of any category, you are encouraged to attend and you are more than welcome to invite friends or family who may not be current members. The dress code is smart casual, lounge suits or tuxedos are not mandatory, but you are of course welcome to glam up if you see fit.
The County Hotel has a large car park, which is free to patrons. The hotel offers rooms if you want to stay overnight, which can be booked online by clicking HERE. If you live on the Dengie peninsular and wish to transported to and from the venue, we will be running a bus service that will collect you from Burnham, Southminster, St Lawrence, Steeple and South Woodham. Return tickets are £20 per person and must be booked and paid for in advance by clicking HERE.
The Laying Up Supper is always a great celebration of SSC life. If you have never been before, come along and join in, you won't regret it.
